What is UnifiedRing?

UnifiedRing operates under telecom domain, provides high-quality communication service through Hosted PBX that operates through your IP connection. Through UnifiedRing, you can start making business phone calls using VoIP which is considered to be a cost-effective method of telephone communication.

With UnifiedRing, you can access phone calls (incoming and outgoing), check messages, connect and collaborate through VoIP, route and forward calls, text, global conferencing and other online meetings. The mobile app is completely integrated with company directories, allowing the individuals to see their contacts availability status (such as available, busy, do not disturb, and invisible) and reduce on-hold time. This feature is called as the “User Presence” feature and it is enabled across all the devices.

UnifiedRing Phone supports Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives, and empowers you and your employees with solutions such as company directory and a single business identity for voice and text, all while reducing your costs on devices, improving employee productivity, and safeguarding your business data. UnifiedRing Messaging (text), conferencing, and online meetings are available with selected UnifiedRing subscription plans.

Is there a free trial for UnifiedRing Phone System?

UnifiedRing Phone System comes with a free 30-day trial period, so there are no risk in purchasing and trying it for your business. The phones can also be returned along full refund within 30 days (must be in good condition, complete with all original materials). Is there a setup fee?

No. There are no setup or activation fees as of now.

How many lines can I purchase?

You can purchase as many lines as you need for your business. We have a number of affordable packages to choose from, and additional lines can also be purchased. For additional details, visit UnifiedRing Price & Plans.

What kind of commitment do I have to make?

No commitment is needed. You can pay as you go (month-to-month) and cancel at any time. Any devices purchased need to be returned in useable condition for a refund within 30 days of the purchase date. What are my payment options?

Currently, UnifiedRing accepts only credit cards payments. We will make available additional modes of payment in future and notify the customers when available.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Call us at (020) 3444 2615, and speak with one of our friendly customer service representatives. Please be ready to verify your account number and billing information as it appears on your account.


Phone Numbers

Your Business Phone Numbers

Do I OWN my number? Can I keep my toll-free or local number, if I choose cancel?

The number you receive after UnifiedRing account sign-up is your OWN toll-free or local number. If you have paid for at least one month of service and your account is active and in good standing status, you may keep your numbers. There is no charge for transferring out numbers. Your account must remain active and in good standing status during the number porting process.

How do I select vanity numbers?

After UnifiedRing product purchase, you can add additional numbers, including vanity numbers, from within your online account. Go to Phone System (Settings) and click on Phones Numbers to add a new number. Vanity numbers take 5-7 days to be live and you will receive an email once the number has been activated.

Can I purchase an international number?

Yes! UnifiedRing offers a variety of options for you to expand your international presence.

You can purchase UnifiedRing International Number licenses for your employees at international offices from the UnifiedRing supported countries. You can choose a preferred number, and activation is only few clicks away. UnifiedRing comes with inclusive calling minutes for international outbound calls.

You can also purchase International Numbers (local or toll-free) as a caller ID for the supported countries by contacting UnifiedRing at (020) 3444 2615. An international number takes few weeks to be added to your account, depending on the requirements from each country. You will be notified once your international number is activated.

What is UnifiedRing SIP Trunking?

UnifiedRing offers SIP Trunking as an additional service that allow  your company to expand your current phone system to international offices in supported countries through VoIP calls, giving you incredibly low call rates in the process.

How long does UnifiedRing Phone System take to activate?

Your account and phone number are activated immediately based on the valid UnifiedRing plan subscription.

What’s involved in setting up my UnifiedRing business phone system?

There is no PBX hardware to install or technical contractors needed for an on-site setup to start using your phone system. Once you’ve purchased UnifiedRing, it’s instantly activated, so you can immediately receive calls and customize your Auto-Receptionist, answering rules, and virtual extensions from your online account.

Do I need special equipment or a router to make this work?

No additional telephone lines, PBX hardware, or installation are required to make UnifiedRing to work. UnifiedRing will work with any high-speed, stable internet connection and requires a minimum of 64 kbps of bandwidth per call. You need a router that will make the internet connection available to your phones/ devices.

What are the minimum system requirements?

Since your phone system is in the cloud and delivered online, the only equipment you need in your office are the IP phones and the router with internet connection.

For the use of UnifiedRing for Desktop (softphone) and Microsoft integration, you need the following specifications:

For Windows 7 (or later):

  • 2 GHz (32-bit or 64-bit) processor
  • Minimum of 1 GB of RAM
  • Minimum 300 MB of hard drive space

For Mac OS X® 10.10 Yosemite (or later):

  • Intel® processor
  • Minimum of 1 GB of RAM
  • Minimum 300 MB of hard drive space

How do I log in to my account?

Using your dedicated local number and password, you can log in at UnifiedRing.co.uk. Provide your registered mobile number and password as your login credentials and click Sign In. You can also access your online account from UnifiedRing mobile and desktop apps.

How do I reset my password?

Log in to your account, select the Settings tab. Click User Password under your name and extension to reset the password.

What is the administrator?

The administrator has full access to make changes to the account setup and configuration. This person will receive the payment and account details upon completion of purchase and ongoing notifications anytime updates are made to the account. The administrator will also be capable of making additional purchases from the account and configure other user’s extensions. Other users will only be able to set up their own extensions.

To log in as an administrator, use your registered local number and administrator password. Only the administrator will see the Admin Portal tab in their account.

What is the operator?

When a caller to the main number does not select an option or extension, they will be automatically directed to the operator. Operator status can be changed anytime in the account.

What happens when I lose power or my internet connection?

Since UnifiedRing is cloud-based, it does not rely on your power or internet connection to continue receiving calls. You can still use your mobile phone as one of your forwarding numbers, so that even if your office internet or power is lost, your calls can be connected from your mobile phone and even shows your business number (RingOut, UnifiedRing iPhone/ Android app).

Can I set up department codes for every transaction?

Yes! UnifiedRing provides cost center management tools, so that you can control your budget by assigning a department or group code for the purchases of UnifiedRing services and devices.

What features are included with UnifiedRing account?

UnifiedRing delivers complete business functionality and a rich set of features for your office phone system. You’ll get everything you need in one complete system with one low price: reliable phone and services with unlimited calling (within UK), online meetings and conferencing, multiple extensions, auto attendant, call forwarding, UnifiedRing SMS and more.

I only want to use certain features. Can I purchase those separately?

No! Our motive is to keep it simple for business owners. We know that purchasing a phone system can be a complex and costly process. We include all the rich functionality and business features in one low monthly cost, so you don’t have to pay per feature per user, which results in much higher costs. Also, many of our customers appreciate that they don’t have to choose only certain features or make trade-offs. With UnifiedRing, you get a comprehensive business phone system, so all the features are available when you need them.

How many minutes are included with my UnifiedRing account?

UnifiedRing comes with unlimited minutes for your phone lines, main number, and number. Unlimited minutes apply to calls anywhere in the UK, and are subjected to UnifiedRing Terms of Service.

Can I make International calls?

Yes, you can! You can view the international rates at https://www.unifiedring.co.uk/landline-mobile-international. To activate international calling, please call customer service at (020) 3444 2615.

How do I retrieve my voice and text messages?

UnifiedRing receives voicemail 24/7 and offers several ways for you to access them.

In your online account

All messages will be saved in your online account. Log in to your account and recent messages will be displayed on the Overview page. Click the Play button next to the message you want to hear or View.

Using your UnifiedRing mobile or desktop apps

Your UnifiedRing mobile app and desktop app allow you to retrieve your voicemail, and text messages. Simply click to listen to a voicemail, view or reply to a text message.

You can also have your messages forwarded to your email and text notification by setting up the notification in your account.

How do I set up my greeting?

Sign-in to your account and in the right column in Quick Links, click on Greetings. Select the New button for the greeting you want to customize and follow the simple on-screen instructions. You can record your new greeting over the phone, using a microphone connected to your computer, or use our default system greetings.

Is there a limit to the length of voicemail greetings?

Greetings are limited to 15 minutes.

How do I set up my company extensions?

As the administrator, you can set up user extensions to connect remote employees under one main number, deliver business announcements, and more. Each extension can be configured with a wide range of blocking, screening, and routing options.

Log in to the Admin Panel and select Users to add or remove a user extension.

As an admin, can I configure multiple users’ settings at once?

Yes! Go to Admin panel to configure multiple users’ common settings across locations.

Can I apply settings to a call queue group?

No! An admin can only apply settings to the user level.

What is UnifiedRing for Desktop?

Can I use the UnifiedRing mobile apps with my service?

Yes! All UnifiedRing customers can use the mobile app at no additional cost. The app provides access to your entire UnifiedRing business phone system, including voicemails. It also allows you to use your UnifiedRing number as your caller ID, dial by extension, provides access to your entire company directory, and much more. How does automatic call recording work?

Once activated for an extension by an admin, automatic call recording will record all of that extension’s incoming and outgoing calls. Recordings can be enabled for individual or multiple users as well as for departments, and can be downloaded or played back anytime. Click here to view more information.

What is Bulk SMS?

Bulk SMS is a feature for the UnifiedRing cloud business phone system that lets users exchange unlimited text messages with colleagues, clients, and department groups, using their UnifiedRing business numbers.

What are UnifiedRing Call Queues?

UnifiedRing Call Queues lets your incoming callers to wait on Queue. This feature helps to share incoming calls to a specified department (such as sales, billing, customer care etc.). You can create or add new call queues by selecting the extension number and assigning it to the direct numbers. Click here to Learn More.

What is Hunt group?

Hunt Group in UnifiedRing allows you to distribute phone calls from one extension (main) to a group of extensions. Hunt Group consists of members that are set up to take incoming calls. Extensions under Hunt Group can be set up to ring simultaneously, sequentially or weighted rings.

What is Call Blast?

Call Blast in UnifiedRing allows you to contact multiple Users simultaneously and broadcast a pre-recorded message. You are allowed to send instant messages to the Users or schedule a time to send messages. You can also specify extension(s) to send and receive the Call Blasts. Main operations in Call Blast include add/ remove Call Blasts through your UnifiedRing online account.

What is Park Location?

Account Administrators are allowed to create Park Location Group in UnifiedRing online account. Park Locations work on UnifiedRing Phone as well as in Mobile application. Administrators can set up Park Locations by adding a Park Location Group on the UnifiedRing account.

Park Locations allow a specific group of people to park a call in a private location that only specific individuals can pick up. To perform this operation, you must add Users as authorized members of a specific Park Location Group in the Online Account. For example, User 1 can answer a call on behalf of User 2, who is on other call; User 1 parks the call on a specified Park Location where, User 2 can pick up the call later on his/ her phone.

What is Conference Bridge?

Account Administrators can create Conference Group through UnifiedRing online account. Each Conference Group created by administrators can contain multiple attendees invited through respective Email IDs. Admins are also allowed to activate Call Screening, Conference Recording, and Conference Status. Conference Group can be accessed on UnifiedRing Online as well as in Mobile application.

Can I use my existing IP phones with UnifiedRing?

Yes! UnifiedRing can be used with most SIP-compatible IP phones. They need to be unlocked by your original provider and will require manual configuration.

Important: Please note that our support team will not be able to troubleshoot or configure IP phones purchased from another vendor. We recommend customers take advantage of the simplicity of our pre-configured IP phones.

Can I use my current phone number with the UnifiedRing service?

Yes! Simply forward your calls to your UnifiedRing number. Or transfer (port) the number to us entirely. Your existing number will be enhanced with the powerful business tools offered by UnifiedRing.

Can I switch my current toll free number to UnifiedRing?

Yes, you can change your existing phone number to UnifiedRing if it is still with your previous provider and is eligible for transfer.

Do I need a phone line or special equipment to make this work?

No additional telephone lines or features are needed to use UnifiedRing. The unified communication provided by UnifiedRing is a completely a stand-alone service. To answer incoming calls, you will need a phone with dial tone that could be a mobile phone, your home phone, an office phone or any other existing line. You can also answer incoming calls through your UnifiedRing application, a free UnifiedRing download. UnifiedRing receives voicemail 24x7 and saves them to your online account. You can retrieve and listen to these messages directly through your computer speakers. No additional local or long distance telephone features or hardware are required for UnifiedRing to function.

Can I upgrade to a different service level or change my billing plan at any time?

Yes! You can switch to latest service levels at any time directly through your online account. Any extra payments will be communicated via your registered contacts.

Am I charged for checking messages?

No! You can access your online account and retrieve your messages anytime for free. You will not be charged for having your messages forwarded to your email address. Text message notifications to your mobile phones are free and unlimited. Also, calls to a local UnifiedRing number forwarded to voicemail and/ or answered on your UnifiedRing application are free.

How much do UnifiedRing services cost?

Service starts as low as £17.99 per month per user. However the price varies for number of months per multiple users. Please check our Pricing Page for more information on each of our plans.

Will my credit card be charged during the free trial?

No! You will not be charged during the 30-day free trial. You will be charged if you choose to upgrade to a subscription during the trial.

You will be automatically upgraded and billed if you do not cancel before the trial period expires.

What is included in the free trial?

You will receive 30 free minutes to use during the 30-day free trial. The entire menu of UnifiedRing standard features can be used during the trial.

Is there a setup fee?

No! There is no setup fee during UnifiedRing installation.

What kind of commitment do I have to make?

No commitment is required. You can pay as you go (month-to-month) and cancel at any time, without penalties or cancellation fees. Annual subscriptions allow you to save up to 33% off the normal month-to-month price and have a one-year commitment period.

Can I transfer my existing phone numbers to UnifiedRing?

Yes.  You can transfer or port your existing toll-free or local phone numbers to UnifiedRing.  Once you have requested port transfer though your online account, you can check the status of your number transfer request.

NOTE: Transferring your phone number typically takes few days and in some cases it may take up to few weeks.

Do I need a phone for an additional phone number?

An additional number would work depending on how you setup the call handling for the mentioned number; (i.e.) the additional number can be setup as "take messages only", "play announcement only" or as a number to be forwarded to another phone number.

You can use the phone numbers you added even without purchasing a phone. You can assign them as a direct extension number to an extension.  

How do I route calls to a new phone number?

You can route calls to a new phone number depending on how you want the calls to be routed according to the call handling setup on your online account. Once you have successfully added a new phone number, you can assign them directly to an extension.

Can I swap phone numbers?

Yes! You can change or swap your UnifiedRing phone number(s). To do so, contact UnifiedRing Call Support for further assistance.

What is UnifiedRing SMS?

UnifiedRing SMS enable you to send and receive text messages with your business number. There's no need to use multiple numbers as you have one number for voice and text messaging.

How do I activate UnifiedRing SMS?

UnifiedRing SMS is automatically activated for UnifiedRing Users.

Is UnifiedRing SMS free?

Yes, this is a free feature for UnifiedRing customers.

What are the requirements for sending SMS messages?

In order to send SMS messages, the following criteria should be met:

  • You must have a valid UnifiedRing plan (UnifiedRing Starter, Standard, Premium or Enterprise)
  • A Digital Line assigned to your extension's phone (desk phone or UnifiedRing phone); or a Direct Local Number assigned to your extension

Can I send SMS if my extension does not have an assigned number?

If your extension does not have a Direct Local Number or Digital Line assigned, you can only send a Text Message to a user's extension within your UnifiedRing account. You cannot send SMS to users or numbers outside your UnifiedRing account.

What devices can I use for sending and receiving SMS?

UnifiedRing SMS work on your smartphones and tablets.

Can I use my toll-free number to send out SMS?

You can only use local numbers in your UnifiedRing account to send out SMS.

Can I send International SMS?

Yes! These features are now available. See International SMS - Overview | RingCentral for more information.

How do I send SMS?

Users can send/ receive SMS to/ from non-UnifiedRing service providers using the UnifiedRing Phone and Mobile

NOTE: Sending and receiving MMS to/ from UK numbers is currently unavailable.

Can I send SMS to a Group?

You can send SMS in Bulk and it is a feature available separately with UnifiedRing. Bulk SMS in UnifiedRing cloud business phone system lets users to exchange unlimited text messages with colleagues, clients, and department groups, using their UnifiedRing business numbers. UnifiedRing offers integrated Bulk SMS in its phone service via UnifiedRing mobile apps (iOS and Android) and desktop apps (Windows and Mac). Click here to view more information.

Is there a limit to the number of SMS that I can send?

You can send an unlimited number of SMS to anybody in the UK.

Can I block numbers from sending me an SMS?

The option to block SMS is currently NOT available. To request for this feature to become available in the future, you can submit a request to UnifiedRing.

Can I disable the SMS feature?

Yes! To disable the SMS feature on one or multiple UnifiedRing local numbers on your account, please contact UnifiedRing Customer Support.

If I transfer my number from another carrier to UnifiedRing, how long will it take before UnifiedRing SMS gets activated?

UnifiedRing SMS activation (for UnifiedRing plans) can take 72 hours up to 5 additional business days after your number is transferred.

What are desk phones?

Desk phones are VoIP (Voice over IP) phones where telephone calls are made over the internet instead of a traditional telephone network.

How do I transfer a call?

To transfer a call, press the following on your phone:

# + # + Phone number (of the person you are trying to call)

How do I make a 3-way (or Conference) call?

Depending on your device, there is a specific button on your desk phone to make a 3-way call. Press the Conference button and dial the extension number of the conference call participant.

NOTE: Three-way calls through desk phones are limited up to three (3) callers.

How do I put a caller on hold?

Depending on your device, there is a specific button on your desk phone to put a caller on hold. Press the Hold button to put the caller on hold.

What is a Static IP address?

Static IP address is a network address that is manually configured to a network device such as IP phones, computers, and tablets.

What are the available UnifiedRing Mobile Apps?

UnifiedRing Mobile Apps are available for iOS and Android devices.

How do I download the UnifiedRing Mobile App?

You can Download iOS App/ Download Android App for UnifiedRing from your mobile phone's official app store.

How do I delete messages from my UnifiedRing Mobile App?

On the Messages section of the UnifiedRing Mobile App, select the messages that you need to delete, swipe to the left and then tap the delete button appeared aside.

What is Conference feature?

UnifiedRing Conferencing allows you to initiate one-click conference calls by sending invitations via Business SMS or email. UnifiedRing Conferencing is available for Android, iOS, as well as UnifiedRing for Desktop.

How do I resolve message sync issues?

Message sync issues may be caused by multiple duplicate messages that you receive on your UnifiedRing account.  You can resolve this by Logging Out and Logging In to your UnifiedRing Mobile App.

NOTE: You can also update your UnifiedRing Mobile App to the latest version for a more stable messaging feature. Contact your smartphone manufacturer to learn how to update apps on your mobile device.

What are the minimum requirements to install the UnifiedRing Mobile App?

The following are the minimum requirements to install the mobile apps:

  • iOS 9.0 or later (iOS 11, iPhone X supported)
  • Android OS 4.4 or higher (Android O supported)

NOTE: BlackBerry devices running on Blackberry OS will not be able to download and install the UnifiedRing Mobile App.
